Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces to ensure optimal adhesion of intumescent paint.
• Troubleshoot the equipment to have minimal down time.
• Keep up maintenance and cleaning of equipment.
• Apply intumescent coatings using hand tools, spray equipment (including airless sprayers), and conventional spray methods while maintaining consistent coverage.
• Follow all safety regulations diligently, including the use of respiratory protection and other personal protective equipment (PPE), to ensure a safe working environment.
• Collaborate with project managers and other tradespeople to interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings related to fireproofing specifications.
• Maintain a clean work area, document progress through detailed reports, and ensure all work meets quality standards and project deadlines.

Requirements

• Proven experience in construction painting, industrial painting, or renovation projects with a focus on surface preparation and coating application.
• Knowledge of construction site safety regulations, including proper use of respiratory protection and adherence to OSHA standards.
• Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, scaffolding, ladders, and spray equipment such as airless paint sprayers.
• Familiarity with construction estimating processes and basic math skills for measuring and mixing paints accurately.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and interpret color schemes for precise application.
• Prior experience with residential or commercial painting projects involving surface prep like plastering, caulking, stucco work, or masonry is highly desirable.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent application technique for smooth application texture.
• Construction site experience is preferred.
• A painting background is a plus, but understand that intumescent paint is not like paint — it has different application requirements and follows specific UL designs that will be inspected by a 3rd party.

• Extensive knowledge of construction site safety regulations such as OSHA standards and federal safety requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Hands-on experience supervising teams in a construction management role; excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple teams effectively.
• Solid understanding of construction scheduling techniques; experience coordinating schedules across multiple crews.
• Strong problem-solving skills in troubleshooting issues on-site.

• Previous experience as a construction, medical, or dental receptionist or personal assistant is a plus but not required.
